Q1 2024 Performance of Top Film & Television iOS Apps in Australia

As the first quarter of 2024 comes to a close, Sensor Tower has analyzed the performance of the top Film & Television applications on the iOS platform in Australia. Here's a glimpse into how these entertainment giants fared.

Amazon Prime Video showed a steady revenue trend, starting at $171K in the first week of January and peaking at $213K towards the end of February. Downloads had a high in mid-January with 38K but gradually tapered off to 23K by the end of March. Weekly active users began at 251K and saw a slight decline to 204K in the last week.

Netflix experienced a mid-quarter revenue peak at $163K, surrounded by a general downward trend, ending the quarter at $116K. Downloads saw a drop from an initial 33K to 26K. Weekly active users started strong at 1.99M but decreased over the quarter, finishing at 1.89M.

Disney+ had a notable revenue spike in late February, reaching $686K, contrasting with a generally declining trend from $599K in the first week of January. Downloads showed a slight increase from 24K at the start of the quarter to 29K in mid-March before settling at 20K. Active users saw a dip from 997K to 876K by quarter's end.

9Now did not generate revenue but had an interesting downloads pattern, with a sharp increase to 28K in late January, followed by a decrease to 11K by the end of March. Weekly active users peaked at 134K in the same period before falling to 92K.

Paramount+ saw its revenue hover around $150K-$173K throughout the quarter. Downloads were highest at the start of January with 21K but declined to 9K. Weekly active users showed a gradual decline from 76K to 55K.
